Why do many people volunteer when an opportunity comes their way? It is way of life for some who believe in serving or being a catalyst in development, aid or some eradication program. But then there people engaged in a profession who do not have a perpetual inclination to volunteer and serve. But when a volunteer opportunity comes rolling in these are the people who grab the chance and deliver.

Why?

There are many reasons for this one important reason is that every good human being has a deep seated philanthropic instinct in him or her. And in face of contingency these volunteers come forward to assist in whatever way they can. Some donate money, the professionals help by donating their skills for a cause and many volunteering individuals help by donating labor as they may not have any professional skills to deliver.

Such volunteers look forward towards a volunteer organization for giving them a volunteering opportunity. These volunteer organizations are usually active during a contingency or have a program which acts as a catalyst in a country or a community’s development.

Thus people join such organizations which meet their needs and work with them till the aim or the purpose is achieved. These volunteering individuals who assist on occasion are as valuable as regular volunteers since they end up providing highly skilled services, labor or money just when it is needed the most.

In today’s chaotic world natural disasters, epidemic, war and social dilemma are a commonplace occurrence and many opportunities are thrust upon an individual to come forward and help in any which way he or she can. Reputed Ngos scout for such volunteers in the time of need. These ngo organizations and nonprofit agencies are the key people behind a contingency management or a program for development in a society or a country.

God bless those who sacrifice time, skills and wealth to help people in a crisis with a spirit that serves the purpose.
