This article aims at scrutinizing two notions. They are equivalence and recognizability. The writer starts with the notion of equivalence. Firstly, the origins and problematic areas. Then, some pairs like prescriptive vs descriptive and linguistic vs. aesthetic are defined. The writer mainly begins explaining equivalence as what expressing the problems of equivalence. In this part the problem of circularity for the relationship between translation and equivalence. Some other problematic and controversial issues over equivalence are explained. In the second part of the study the notion of the recognizability which is defined as what the relationship virtually is perfectly described. Many aspects indicate that recognizability carries both subjectivism and objectivism. In the final part the concept behind recognizability is defined. It says the translation is any text accepted as a translation in the target culture. In this article the ideas of Toury and Gult are of main significance.

To sum up, this article explains equivalence by analyzing its origins and problems and introduces recognizability as a good relation by examining the situational dimension in target culture.
