10 years ago, the term “online schooling” was not too appealing; it is just like and airplane in the beginning of the 20th century. In 1996, the Internet was still under the development process if we get a look to the actual situation.

But we don’t live in 1996 anymore and the actual century gets everything acceptable and possible in the USA. That’s why studying outside the school, at home in front of the computer, actually gets more and more supporters and actually online schooling became very popular between young people and not only.
Online schooling can also challenge discomfort for some people but this is quite understandable since it’s not the usual way of learning. Imagine, it’s just like those people who travelled by airplane for the first time.

If you count between those students who are considering this way of learning, first, you should know some things. The pros and cons of online schooling are:

Pros
1. You don’t have to waste your time on traveling
With online schooling, classroom and home are the same.Even if you live in a small town in the USA or a big city like New York or Washington, you can always study your lessons. Online schooling removes the time you have to prepare for school, waiting for the green light or just the time you have to spend on the taxi.

2. You get no more classmates to mind!
If you choose online schooling, the classroom (your home) is all yours! You don’t have to get along with a group or to look for your seat and you even don’t have to be nice or rude.

3. You have the possibility to stay home anytime
Online schooling works best for those who need to attend things around the home. For example: a baby to take care of or a puppy. Simply, online schooling provides more time on other things and, at the end of the day, your “to-do-list” will remain quite empty. Nice!

Cons
1. Your personal competence is a decisive parameter
Do you think can you learn on your own or should you have a teacher and a teacher to understand the lesson? Some students are better studying alone but other simply cannot. You can consider the online schooling only if you think you are able to learn and understand without the actual classroom discussion.

2. The online school competence is very important
There are many online schools you may choose between but the main question remains: after you have spent money and precious time on your chosen online school, would you be able to get a job? My friendly advice is to do a research on their competency and pay attention what credit they can provide once you finish it and get into the working world. That’s a very important aspect you should consider.

3. The environment cooperation is also important
Can you learn with all the destructiaons you may have in your environment? Does your home fit the studying requirements? There are many homes that are not fit to become classrooms. And there are many situations like the presence of noisy children, the neighbourhood’s dog which is always barking or your home is simply not situated into a silent and adequate learning environment.
In conclusion: home schooling is not for everyone. You have to do more research and take in consideration the facts above before choosing a home schooling program.

Good luck!
