Let us suppose that you are one of those people who has seen or read The Secret or any one of the other many published inspirational, self help, personal development works. You probably did so because you want to master the powers of your mind to Live your dreams. You want the freedom to do what you want to do when you want to do it.

I further believe you can improve your life for the better beginning right now, if you have not already done so, but only by mastering your mind power. I also believe that you probably suffer from some version of the same bug that afflicted me, the impatience bug.

You have likely been conditioned to want instant relief, instant results, therefore, you fail to realize that you did not reach your present conditions instantly, and you fail to reason that your life conditions are not going to change instantly.

I wish to be very clear about this. I believe that you or any person who sincerely wishes to do so can change for the better. It is not that terribly difficult. To do so, however, will require a desire for positive change, a commitment to taking charge of your mind, a basic understanding of how the mind works, a clear picture and understanding why positive change is desirable, some degree of acceptance of how the self image (also known as personality, psyche, map of reality, ego) is in control, a process, and persistence.

In addition, you will need another very critical component that is missing from the personal development regimen of most people, namely a tool, system, or technique to effectively work through setbacks, and the counter thoughts you will experience. In fact, I place this component on par with any of the others.

The absence of this component is the reason that even though the personal development industry experiences multi-billions of dollars in sales each year, relatively few people succeed in making the positive changes they desire. I do not believe I can overstate the importance of your gaining knowledge and understanding of the self image.

You deserve financial security, new enriching experiences, and recognition for your contributions to the world. If these conditions are not in you life now, you are going to have to make some changes to your self image. You must first master and control your mind and through your mind, change the self image.

As I have stated in earlier articles, your self image is in control of all of your consistent thoughts, images, ideas, and emotions in your life that are on automatic pilot. It has come to enjoy the seat of power it has gradually been allowed to occupy. If you do not reckon with it, it will stop you dead in your tracks each time you attempt to bring positive change into your life.

This I know for sure. You are the most miraculous of all living beings on earth. You are the owner of a mind that is so stupendous, that as you truly begin mastering your mind power and consciously using it, there is no dream that you can dream that you cannot achieve.

3. How to get more happiness with less effort
More with less is a practical tool that delivers on two promises: It is always possible to improve anything in our lives, not by a small amount, but by a large amount. The way to make the improvement is to ask, “What will give me a much better result for much less energy?” It’s not enough to seek improvement by means of greater effort or the same effort as today. A much better outcome must be sought alongside lower effort. To expect more with less may se...

4. What is the good life
Three centuries before Christ, Greek philosophers debated what made the good life. Perhaps the most convincing view came from Epicurus, who took his own advice and lived very happily. “I don’t know how I could imagine the good life,” he said, “if I take away the pleasure of taste, if I take away sexual pleasure, the pleasure of hearing, or the sweet emotions caused by seeing beautiful forms.” Epicurus said that all we need for happiness is: Food, shelter, clothes ...

6. Happiness through Goodness
I. If a conscious principle had presided over the creation of man, it must have pursued this course of reasoning: "The feeble creature which, in developing, will become man, will be exposed to every peril. He will suffer from contact with his fellow-creatures. Envy and wickedness will cause him numberless pangs. In the struggle for life, the weak will be crushed by the strong. A prey to constant discouragements, man will lose faith in the future. He will need a companion to brighten his life with the softest rays. He needs a warm hea...

Worse yet, the research shows that conflicts that start negatively are the leading indicator to relationships that end in divorce &md...

9. Prejudice of Wealth
I. The belief in happiness through the possession of riches resembles the tradition so widely diffused in the Middle Ages, of the icy caresses of the devil. All the women accused of witchcraft were of one mind in their confessions. The evenings spent with Beelzebub lacked charm. His embraces had a deadly chill. These complaints are heard from all who passed a night with Satan. He was handsome and irresistible, but his kisses froze them with terror. Wealth procures happiness, sincere souls declare, and they are believed. The aff...

Anger in a relationship stems most frequently from irresolvable issues. Issues that can be resolved seldom create nearly as much anger in a relationship. Sally was a neat-nick. When they married, Sally began nagging Walter to "Pick up after yourself." But, Walter often didn't pick up after himself. So Sally picked up after Wal...
