learn more...I wrote this because I have been studying the Bible. I am fasinated about how God worked through his people. When you read and study the Bible you will find all kinds of interesting ways God worked in the lives of his people. God has such awesome power. I have a DVD on a man that was taken to heaven. He talked about how God just moved his finger and a angel was trown backwards. Now that is power, God has so much power that he just breathed on Adam and he came to life. Before that he just spoke and everything came into existence. God carefully shaped Adam from earthly clay, breathed life into his body, and made him a living person. He made the garden of Eden for Adam and instructed him to take care of it. God brought the animals and birds to Adam so that Adam could name them. Adam's world was pleasant and harmonious, but he was alone. So God created Eve from Adam's rid, and Adam and Eve lived and worked together in the garden. God had warned Adam earlier not to eat the fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. But the serpent pursuaded Eve to try the fruit; she, in turn gave some to Adam. Immediately they felt ashamed of themselves and their nakedness and covered themselves with leaves. At the time of the evening breeze, God was walking in the garden. Feeling guilty about what they had done, Adam and Eve hid from their creator. God confronted them and dealt with their disobedience: He cursed the serpent to crawl forever on its belly in the dust; he confronted the woman to painful childbearing and to potential domination by Adam; and he handed Adam over to a life of unending hardship as a farmer. Then God banished the pair from the Garden of Eden forever. With their actions, Adam and his family brought sin and death into the world. The apostle Paul emphasized the spiriual relationship between Adam and Jesus, saying that the first man was an example of disobedience and death, while Christ - the second Adam - was the ultimate example of obedience and eternal life. After God created everything and saw that it was good. And after Adams creation and the sin that entered into the world, people got really bad. So God worked through Noah to preserve life on earth. Noah appears in the tenth generation after Adam in the genealogies of Genesis. Singled out by God to preserve life on earth when all others proved undeserving, he became the center of one of the most familiar stories found in the Bible. Noah and his family lived in a world so violent and so wicked that God decided he would destroy all humans and they would no longer exist. However, in the midst of this decandence, there was one man - Noah - who had faith in God and lived a righteous and blameless life. God revealed to Noah his plan to destroy not only corrupt humanity but the physical earth in its entirety by a deluge of water not yet know to humankind. Noah was righteous so God mad a covenant with him, a promise of safety for him and his family, and a place of preservation for two of every animal on the earth. God is so awesome that he saved Noah and his family just because he was righteous. I believe he will do the same for every righeous person that obeys and believes in him. In preparation for the floodwater, God gave Noah a 120 - year project, telling him to build an ark of cypress wood coated with pitch inside and out. Now that is a long project, my husband and I have been working on a home. I thought it was taking along time until I found out how long it took Noah to build the ark. God gave him precise instructions and dimensions. Noah did everything just as God commanded. The task of gathering every kind of animal together in one place was improbable, but God helped by delivering the animals to him. This shows you how God is in control of everything in the world. Noah put the animals into the huge zoo, and when he and his wife, sons, and daughter - in - laws all safely entered the ark, God closed the door. Noah was a little over 600 years old when God released the floodwaters and caused underground spings to burst open. Noah made the ark his home, managing his family and overseeing the feeding and cleaning of the animals, while the rains fell for 40 days and 40 nights on the entire earth. After 150 days, the waters had recede enough to reveal the mountains of Ararat. After 40 days, Noah opened the only window in the ark and released a raven, which kept flying back. Noah then set free a dove from the window, but it also returned. Seven days later,Noah again sent out the dove, and finally it returned with an olive leaf in its mouth. Noah then knew that vegetation had begun to grow, and soon they would be able to leave the ark. Seven more days passed, and Noah again released the dove. Noah was assured that the earth was again habitable when the dove did not return. After the water dried up on the earth, Noah was able to start a new life. I sometimes wonder what it would have been like to go through every thing Noah and his family went through. I wonder what they thought, and if they were afraid. Just think about it, everything you knew and wokred for gone. Then you have to start over again and do not even know what to expect. It's a good thing that Noah had faith in God.
