Here’s a tip for anyone who needs to design a large amount of material that’s going to be used all at once: design all of it at the same time.
       

The situations where you’re going to need a large amount of material to use at the same time is rather varied. Most presentations you give you’ll probably want to have a decent amount of material to hand out to each person in the crowd. The same goes for any tradeshow or event like that where you’ll need to have several packets of information to give to someone.
       

Even with day to day sales I’ve been to plenty of places where they handed me a packet filled with the various details about their services or products. All of these situations require that you hand someone multiple pages, usually in a folder, and you’ll want this information to have the biggest impact possible.
       

Marketing is never just about the information you give to people. Yes, you want to be sure that all of the actual information in the folders are effective, but you also need to put though to the style of it all. The better something looks the more professional it automatically feels.
       

Most of these things are going to be several completely separate elements brought together. You’ll have the folder printing, sometimes multiple different smaller packets of information covering a variety of products or details about your services. At the tradeshows I’ll often get folders crammed with information on three or four different aspects of the company.
       

It never looks good when someone different designed each part of this overall packet. This leads to a patchwork appearance that doesn’t convey a strong sense of professionalism.
       

What you need to do is make sure that every time you’re going to something or designing things you know are going to be used together, you either have the same person design them all, or find a very strong primary theme that will run through all of them.
       

The colors need to be the same throughout all of them along with different choice of words and other visual elements. From your folder printing to even perhaps a business card you slip into the folder, make sure that all of it carries the same visual mark.
       

Not only does this make it all work together far more effectively, but it shows you actually put thought into making sure your work combined into a great looking final package. You’re telling people something about yourself when you hand them a folder filled with information that works effectively together.
       
All it takes is a little communication and foresight to be sure that your marketing material looks exactly the way you want it to. Never forget the importance of the visuals for any kind of advertising.
